When I was 13, until the age of 16 I was in state foster care, meaning for three years, neither parent had legal custody of me (we’re unsure what happened from 16-18, it’s hazy).

During that time I had social security benefits under my mother (who received SSD or SSI when I was twelve) and child support (supposedly) from my father, both paid to the state.

I’m now twenty-five, almost twenty six, which, even if factoring in that I might have “officially’ left state custody at eighteen, would be seven years removed from the state’s custody…

so WHY the fuck is the Oregon Department of Revenue hounding us, 7-10 years later about child support that was supposed to the paid (according to them) for care received? They HAD money, they had quite a bit of money!

We do not owe you 4,000$ fucking dollars for 3-5 years of care (it wasn’t that good of care). And no we’re not going to pay you said thousands by November 30th! We can’t even pay the god-damn electric bill at the moment (don’t ask, bill screw up).

I want 4,000$ dollars pain and suffering for the bloody nightmares I still have from the experience. For the therapy bills I would have incured (you know, if I believed in that tripe) dealing with not only abusive foster parents, but the fact you physically removed me from my HOME and LIFE and shunted me off to six foster homes, three emergency care shelters, one group home (and a night in a friend’s house when I couldn’t bloody take it any more).

ARG *headdesk*

And why do none of the government or legal sites even touch on this issue? We can’t be the only family being screwed up the ass without lubrication.

They’re now saying if we don’t pay by the 30th, they’re going to suspend mum’s driver’s license, put a lein on our house, our car, do fucked up things to her credit (like we haven’t already screwed that one up).

And I still have to take out a payday loan to cover the stupid electric bill.
