Family memories and bordom

I got extreamly bored today and went looking through the photo albums and found of Great Grandmere (x2) Marie.

I LOVE this photo, if just for the circimstances surrounding it.  This is as close to the last moment of her life as one could have gotten.  She died three hours later on the steps of the Rosevelt Hotel in California.  The reason for the photo was Great Grandmere Marie had just finished the dress and had the picture taken to show it off before heading out with her girlfriend to Groman's Chinese Theatre.

Anyway!  So I was bored and looking through the album and got creative and...majorly insulted my grandmother by colouring in the photo (well, a copy of it, I wouldn't do that to the actual photo).  So here's my attempt at colouring in Grandmere if you want a giggle:

I always find old photos so fascinating. It's awesome that you know the story behind the photo, too. She died 3 hours later? What happened?

I like the way you coloured it while still keeping the 'old time' feel of the photograph!

Arg, I just read this in the letter too, leaky heart valve I think. It didn't close all the way or something, and since this was ages ago, help didn't arrive quick enough to save her life.
