As much as possible. I’m a canon thumper so it’s hard not to, but fanfiction are “What if” stories, if it followed canon completely there would be no use.

Not well. Generally I just stop writing until it goes away

Never…though I need to update it.

37. What irritates you most when you are writing?

No one saying anything about said writing. I don’t write for myself, after all, I know how the story ends (most of the time). I write for others and I want to know that at least someone’s reading it.

Also irritates me to argue with others over a plot/idea, just because THEIR idea of canon makes them unable to see what I’m trying to say. Some of canon is subjective, not clearly spelled out, and everyone sees events from their own eyes.
