I hate doctors...

Well, mum met with her ENT today. He did a nasoscope and spotted a "bad patch". He won't tell us what it is. He wants to try her on some antacids before doing more work but he thinks it could be early stage throat cancer.

My mother...more than likely...has cancer. It's a hard thing to accept, even through I've been trying for the past month (we knew it was a possibility). I'm only twenty-three, she's only forty-eight. We shouldn't be facing mortality yet. My mom's supposed to be young forever and die at the age of 150...not forty eight.

I made my mother swear today that she won't die and leave me with Grandma. Don't know if she'll keep that promise but it made me smile.

Oh, Saitaina. This must be really difficult for you. I'm sending happy thoughts to you, for both your mother's health, and for everyone's peace of mind. Remember that lots of cancers are treatable, especially when caught early, and I very strongly believe that attitude can be a big factor in recovery - staying in good spirits and believing in good health makes a difference. ::hugs::

Early stage means that it's very likely that treatment will be effective. Am sending many good thoughts in your direction.

Btw, Christmas is coming, does your Mom want another card this year?

Ah, I don't think so, not with everything that's going on...she's very down and for some reason cards dont' cheer her up like they do normal people. I do though. :)

By the way, thank you everyone for you're warm wishes which have been passed on to my mother.

I'm so sorry. But, like others have said, it is good that it's been caught early, when you've got the maximum chance of a full recovery. I'm hoping for the best for you and your family. *Hugs*
