Stupididity in a heart shapped box

I am getting so sick of Valentines day comercials. They’re designed to hurt people, to make you feel worthelss if you don’t get the items shown (or give them). They destory people’s self esteem, simply by circimstance. Not everyone is in a relationship, nor are they in a relationship where gifts are given, in particular for stupid little holidays.
When I was a kid, it was harder to deal with, the candy grams, flower grams, balloon grams, whatever grams that the schools sold to ‘raise money’ just hurt people in the end because they were forced to sit through an entire day of everyone but them (or so it seamed at the time) reciving the gifts, year in, and year out.
When you get older, the ‘grams’ get more expensive. Diamonds, expensive dinners and x ammount of dozens of roses. It’s a pathetic attempt at the fleecing of the public under a guise of ‘romance’ and ‘love’.
If you lvoe someone, shiny presents doesn’t matter, that love does.
I mean yeah, I wouldn’t mind opening my mail Febuary 14th finding a little token of love from my boyfriend, but I’m not expecting one.
Maybe its’ the fact I only ever got Valentines presents from my mother, it’s the whole outlook of an outsider who has never been on the inside, but it still seems pathetic and disgusting to me. If not for the fact every year I feel absolutly misrible after each comercial.
And I don’t even LIKE diamonds which makes it even more stupid. *grumpy face*
Yes I realize that contradicted itself. Sumamary: I want one, I hate myself for wanting one and hate the industry for making me want one. Pathetic they name is Saitaina.
