saitaina: (Everyone Left-depressed)

So mum and I have been discussing the move we will be making in x amount of years (however long it takes to finish up this house) and we got to talking about various problems about moving back to the desert (one being my health, it doesn’t do well in poor weather).

I absently mentioned that I always wanted to live in New England at least some point in my life…

So she asked me where in New Engand and I, thinking we’re just talking about my ’someday/maybe’, answered my dream location - Salem, Mass. She then told me it was an intresting idea and that I should look into houses there.

Bwah?!

It’s kind of odd, to be almost handed your dream on an empty platter and told to enjoy. Seriously, I never thought I’d make it off the west coast, let alone New England, and even more shockingly, SALEM.

So…I’ve been looking into housing and…it’s kind of affordable, plus it’s close to the water and it’s close to other features of the east coast I was looking for, such as accessability to a certain city and…it’s closer to my friends.

The downside is…it’s closer to my friends. I mean, I love them to death and would kill to be closer and actually SEE them, but…I still remember what happened the last time I tried that. I lost one of my closest friends because it turned out that talking to someone every day for four years….didn’t really tell you much.

Plus, there’s the whole thing of ‘would they even care?’. Yay I could see them, but that doesn’t matter if they don’t want to be seen, it’s their right and it would be kind of depressing to be so close but unable to do anything.

So…it’s something to think about, if I want to set myself up for that.

I guess…I’ll find out in time.
