We will get better because we have to. Human's are not designed to suffer forever...our brains won't let us.
I drove out to where mum died last night...I thought I would find something there, some emotion that's been escaping me...all I found was a cold, empty stretch of road that looked just like every other stretch on that back country road. There was nothing out there for me, just like there's nothing for me in looking backwards and wishing things were different. A bit of a relief honestly, I feel like I can finally close that chapter and work on getting braver for whatever's coming.
